Minneapolis is located less than 30 minutes from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, voted Best Airport in North America by Airports Council International four out of the last five years.
MSP International Airport offers 163 nonstop flights, including 136 domestic and 27 international from all major U.S. hubs and many in Asia and Europe.
Light Rail
After arriving at MSP International Airport, participants may travel to Minneapolis via Metro Transit light rail. Travel between airport terminals is available 24 hours a day. Light rail transportation operates every 12 to 15 minutes from approximately 3:30 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.
For $2.50 during rush hour periods or only $2 at all other times, passengers can travel between the 19 stations, which connect MSP International Airport to downtown Minneapolis, Metro Transit light rail waiting at the East Bank stop on the University of Minnesota campus downtown St. Paul, the Mall of America, and many more locations. Travel time between MSP International Airport and the University of Minnesota campus is approximately 30- 40 minutes. The light rail stops within a short walking distance (less than 0.5 miles) of all conference hotels.
Car Rentals and Parking
Alternatively, participants can rent a car. There are nearly a dozen rental car companies operating between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at MSP International Airport.
There are plentiful parking opportunities on the University of Minnesota campus. On the East Bank campus—where the conference will be held—there are 11 parking lots and garages, as well as metered street parking. The daily maximum to park ranges between $6 and $15.
Any parking charges at other hotels or locations around Minneapolis will be the participants’ responsibility.
